"We worked with Lorène for about a year. It
was the year we were gradually emerging from
the COVID crisis, and I was full of
apprehension at the thought of starting therapy,
even though I felt I needed it. I didn’t feel like I
was in a crisis, and I was afraid I wouldn’t be
worthy of occupying this special space created
for the community. Lorène immediately made
me feel at home, and the conversation flowed
naturally.
We gradually brought up episodes from my life
that I had pushed deep into the recesses of my
memory and worked through the feelings of
shame associated with them. We also addressed
more pressing issues in my life, particularly
because I’d decided to leave France to try to
discover my mother’s country of origin in
Africa, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave the
comfort of the life I knew and take that leap. We
also talked about family, friendship, and my
romantic and sexual life, and Lorène helped me
accept my bisexuality with greater peace of
mind, without the need for constant
performance, and opened my eyes to certain
patterns I’d developed that made it very difficult
to form deep romantic bonds of any kind.
I also experienced a sexual assault during that
year of therapy, and Lorène’s support was
essential in keeping me from sinking into a
downward spiral that might have taken me a
long time to climb out of.
It’s hard to sum up in just a few words all the
benefits I’ve gained from this therapy, but the
tools I developed over the course of this year
are still helping me to this day. My sessions
with Lorène continued via video chat for a
while after I left France, and they helped me
navigate the turmoil of my first few weeks in
the new life I’d chosen, as well as my first
romantic relationship, which began at the same
time.
A thousand thanks to Lorène for helping me
open the door to the person I truly am, a person
who continues to emerge little by little into the
light."

"As a trans person who has experienced
domestic violence, embarking on a therapeutic
journey with Lorène has been a caring,
soothing, and healing experience. Lorène
possesses deep empathy and expertise in
psychoanalysis, trauma, and PTSD in particular,
which allowed me to reach a place where I
could acknowledge my experiences and gave
me valuable tools for understanding myself that
continue to guide me today."

"After some disappointing and at times difficult
therapeutic experiences, where certain topics
related to experiences of violence and my queer
identity were addressed in an insistent manner
and at a pace that wasn’t right for me, I found a
safe haven within the therapeutic space of
Queertherapie, offered by Lorène. I was deeply
moved and touched by the respect and
sensitivity Lorène consistently demonstrated.
They never forced me to talk about things I
wasn’t ready to address and allowed me to
move forward at my own pace, within a caring,
safe, and egalitarian relationship that was truly
built together with me.
I also appreciated how the work on the self
could be intertwined with a reflection on, and
critique of, social norms and power dynamics
that can permeate our experiences and crush our
individual identities and collective existence.
This support helped me get through difficult
times and, above all, allowed me to emerge with
greater resources, a deeper understanding of
myself, and the ability to take action. I am very
grateful to have met Lorène and to have
experienced this therapeutic space where I felt
listened to, respected, encouraged, and fully
acknowledged in my uniqueness."

Here are a few testimonials from people I’ve had the
privilege of supporting throughout their therapeutic
journey.
Therapy sometimes leaves its mark.
Words that settle in, perceptions that shift, parts of
oneself that gradually become conceivable,
expressible, and livable.
These words, shared freely, bear witness to their
experience of the encounter, the work undertaken,
and what this space came to mean to them.
I would like to thank those who, after passing through
this space, agreed to share a few words.
